Morning Star Church

Our ten-week worship series called “10 Keys: Unlocking Faith” will continue on Sunday, June 26, as we consider ways that the words of Jesus connect with the 10 Commandments.

Key No. 5, “Show Respect,” is rooted in Matthew 5:43-48 and Exodus 20:12. Worship will take place on Sunday at 8, 9:30 and 11 AM in the sanctuary and at 9:30 online.

All are welcome to participate in these interactive services for all ages!

Frozen Jr

This past weekend, actually past two weeks, we tried something new and different. We stretched, pushed and pulled ourselves in new ways to show the grace of God that we find in Jesus to the people of Las Cruces.

We had amazing help from Megan McQueen, Angie Hereford, Diane Montoya, Elaine Hamm, Amanda Lambright, Alejandra Delgado and Laura Talley. Plus we had 36 kids, ages 5 to 16, from all over Las Cruces.  These amazing individuals pulled off what many thought couldn't be done in two weeks time.

Morning Star reached 400 people over four shows that quite possibly wouldn't have darkened the doorway of a church more than once in a month. Some showed up to all four shows, it was that good! Morning Star friends showed up too, to see what it was all about, and they brought friends. 

Was it messy? It sure was, otherwise there would have been no ministry. Did we share the word of God with folks? We did by letting them know not only the central theme of Frozen Jr but also what Jesus taught us, "Love is putting someone else's need before yours."

Thank you for your prayers, your presence (even John Gardenhire showed up!), your service in ways big and small, your witness to be a church that is inviting to everyone and your gifts that made all of this possible!
